Seafarers can now file their Income tax return (ITR) for the FY 2019-20 till 31st May, 2021. Earlier the last date to file the ITR was 31st March, 2021. Many seafarers amidst the chaos of crew change were not able to file their ITR and ended up disappointed.
There are many benefits of filing ITR and it is not advisable to skip filing of ITR for even one year. ITR for the previous 3 years or 5 years are required by Bankers to grant loan whether it is housing loan or personal loan. ITR is also required for the purpose of visa processing. And the benefit is endless.
